Crystal Palace National Sports Centre
|
|
Opened in 1964, the NSC was one of the first
purpose-built multi-sport centres of its kind. It is managed by Greenwich
Leisure Ltd in partnership with the London Development Agency. It is a
Grade II* listed building but seriously in need of renovation. This is
at last under way, but means that the main swimming and diving pools are
now closed until at least September 2008.
Facilities which can be available for Personal Training include
the Wellness gym and the international-standard
athletics stadium, not to mention the historic park next door. The park
offers both flat and hilly walking and running routes, with lakes,
trees, parakeets and dinosaurs!

Where is Crystal Palace NSC?
For a map, see
multimap.com. Until the main building re-opens, the Wellness gym is
located in the Lodge, the tall building located behind and above the
tennis courts. (There is a separate reception for the swimming pool and
old dance studio, signposted from the Lodge end of the NSC main
building.) Pedestrian
access is best sign-posted from the Crystal Palace railway station. |
